Bishop treads the right path
The Bishop of Bath and Wells is spending two months walking more than 300 miles around his diocese.
The Right Reverend Peter Price will meet Church of England members from Portishead and Weston-super-Mare to as far away as Yeovil.
The Rt Revd Price will set out on Monday, May 4, when he will climb Glastonbury Tor with 50 children from a local school.
His route will take him around most of Somerset, including Clevedon, Easton-in-Gordano and Dundry.
The Bishop is undertaking his walk to mark the 1,100th anniversary of the foundation of the Diocese.
Thousands of people are expected to join him along the route.
Along the way he will explore issues faced by children and young people, rural housing, the green agenda, nuclear power, and urban growth and development.
He will also hear how the credit crunch has affected people's lives.
The Rt Revd Price said: "This is not an escape from reality. I'm looking forward to some first-hand encounters with the real issues of the diocese. All human life will be there. And so, I pray, will God."
