Bishop Sutton staged a fightback to beat Corsham Town 4-3 for their first league win of the season.

Sutton took the lead on the half-hour, when Ross Smart scored from the penalty spot after a Corsham defender had handled, but three goals in the opening 15 minutes of the second half put Corsham on top.

Smart then struck twice more to complete his hat-trick and bring the scores level, and he was then brought down by goalkeeper Nick Gingell for Sutton's second penalty of the afternoon. Gingell was sent off but the stand-in keeper saved Darren Hawkins' spot-kick. However, Sam Bailey was on hand to net the rebound.

"We showed a lot of character to battle our way back into the game," said Bishop Sutton boss Lee Lashenko.

Bitton and Brislington, who have both made poor starts to the season, battled out a goalless draw at the Recreation Ground, where visiting Brislington, who had two goals disallowed, had much the better of the game.

Bitton who were without player-coach Michael Meaker through injury, never seriously troubled Brislington goalkeeper Chris Humphries until late in the game, when he saved well from William De Wet.

Brislington thought they had taken the lead when Justin Bishop's shot hit a post and Russ Church netted with the rebound, but it was ruled out for offside.

In the second half Church made a good break down the right but no one was able to turn in a his low cross.

Bristol Manor Farm slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Barnstaple Town. Sam Box and Andrew Charran put the hosts in control before they had Stan Paxton sent off for a second bookable offence. Matt Deakin added a third goal for the 10 men before Matt Thorne headed in a consolation for Manor Farm.

Longwell Green Sports, who were without a number of key players through injury, slumped to a 3-0 home defeat against Welton Rovers, but manager Julian Harmer refused to blame this for their defeat.

Gary Banks, Timmy Thompson and Dean Evans, with a penalty, scored for Welton.

Rovers keeper Tristan Westlake made a good early save from Wayne Pearce before Welton took the lead on the half-hour mark through Banks, with Thompson heading in a free kick to make it 2-0 just before the interval.

Evans added a third goal halfway through the second half after a Longwell Green defender handled.

Hallen manager Gary Domone was happy to escape with a point after Ronnie Mowatt's late equaliser cancelled out a goal from Wellington's Simon Ingram.

Ben Wellshire's late run created the opening for midfielder Ronnie Mowattt to crash the ball home from 25 yards to deny Wellington, who had been the better side, three points.

In Division One, striker Danny Guibarra marked his debut for Hengrove Athletic by scoring the winner against Chard Town.

Tom Kington had two shots cleared off the goal line by Chard defenders before former Brislington man Guibarra struck late in the game.

Oldland Abbotonians went in 2-0 down at Shrewton United but took a draw after leading scorer Matt Huxley pulled a goal back and then debutant Simon Dew struck to give them a deserved point.

Roman Glass St George are still searching for their first victory of the season after being held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Elmore, who twice came from behind after Addie Cutts and Ian Power had scored for Roman Glass.

Cadbury Heath were beaten 1-0 at Bradford Town, while Keynsham Town were surprisingly held to a 2-2 home draw by Minehead.
