This is Bristol

You recently published details of Bristol people who had been awarded honours in the Queen's Birthday List.

Many of these seemed to be in relation to career rather than community/voluntary activities, as I understand was the basis in the past.

Has there been a change to the nomination procedures? Are checks made regarding criminal records?

The system seems to have been dumbed down in favour of PC (Political Correctness) preferences rather than real community achievement. If so, I believe this is regrettable.

Roy Tallis, Chantry Road, Clifton.

“No, he's right. It should be a lot less PC, to restore some of the balance.

May I suggest a "Best Darkie" award? Or "Poofter of the Year"?

    I assume that's what he's getting at..

    The muppet.”

    “Hello Roy,
What on earth are you on about? What is political correctness?”
