Biker killed in crash with car near Thornbury

A MOTORCYCLIST has died after a collision with a car near Thornbury.

The man in his 40s was riding the bike with a female passenger, who suffered "traumatic injuries" and was taken to Frenchay Hospital.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon on the A38 near the White Horse pub in the village of Buckover.

The road was closed both ways between the B4061 Old Gloucester Road and Hacket Lane for more than three hours after the incident.

The Great Western Air Ambulance was called to the incident, which happened at about 2.30pm, and a police investigation into the crash was under way last night.
