Biker critical after Bristol road crash
Police have urged motorists to avoid the Hicks Gate roundabout near Keynsham, where there has been a serious accident.
A motorcyclist was discovered lying on the roundabout, which is at the junction of the A4 and A4174 Avon Ring Road at 6.40am on Friday morning.
He has been taken to Frenchay Hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police closed the road and are advising motorists to avoid the area for at least the next two hours.
Avon and Somerset's collision investigation unit will be carrying out an examination of the scene.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who travelled along the A4174 in the area of the roundabout this morning just before accident.

“I don't think anyone should pass comment on this accident unless you have been in the unfortunate situation to have experienced it either as the rider or the family and I have. Hicks Gate roundabout is a nightmare for bikes even at low speed. My thoughts and prayers go to the rider and the family - I know exactly what you are going through - a living nightmare.”
