Big interest in Diamond Jubilee Street parties in Bristol
The number of street parties registered in Bristol has already passed the amount that took place for last year's Royal Wedding - despite there still being six weeks to go before the Diamond Jubilee weekend.
So far around 70 community street parties in Bristol have registered for a street closure, in addition to the major organised events.

Last year Bristol held around 60 street parties throughout the city for the Royal Wedding - one of the highest for any city across the country excluding London.
The deadline for applying for a street closure for the Jubilee is this Friday (April 27), so residents and community groups interested in applying are urged to send in their as soon as possible.

Simon Cook, deputy leader and cabinet member for culture, sport and capital projects said: "The fact that street party registrations have already surpassed the number held last year shows the massive interest there is throughout the city for this year's Jubilee.
"We will definitely be living up to our reputation as the street party capital of Britain."
