Drivers between Shortwood and Pucklechurch face lengthy diversions this week because of resurfacing work.

Shortwood Road will be closed each day between 8am and 5pm.

South Gloucestershire Council said the work would involve the excavation and planing off of the existing surface of the carriageway followed by resurfacing.

" Access to properties and amenities fronting the site will be available at all times and every effort will be made to keep the disruption to local residents to a minimum for the duration of the works.

"South Gloucestershire Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by these essential works.," a spokesman said,
