Beauty apprenticeships in Weston
Apprenticeships are up for grabs for three youngsters interested in pursuing a career in beauty therapy.
The Business Enterprise Centre, part of Weston College, has places for three people aged 16 and above to join the Beauty Oasis Day Spas in Weston and Winscombe.
Tanita Veal, hair and beauty co-ordinator at the centre, said: "There are three vacancies available for people wishing to do an apprenticeship at Beauty Oasis Day Spa.
"There are huge benefits for those who take up an apprenticeship.
"For a start they combine the experience of working with gaining qualifications.
"Apprentices learn while at work, directly with an employer, building up knowledge and skills, gaining qualifications and earning money at the same time.
"Many of our apprentices tell us they prefer to learn like this, in a hands-on, practical way."
Beauty Oasis specialises in holistic therapy and employs five apprentices aged 16 to 18 via the Business Enterprise Centre. They train at the spa every Monday.
Salon owner Sarah Hallaran, the owner of Beauty Oasis said: "I think apprentices get the best of both worlds as they gain experience in the world of work and they acquire recognised qualifications."
The spa is also looking for clients on Mondays who the trainees can practice on.
