A restaurant in Bristol has been swamped with demands for a burger so big it has to be ordered 24 hours in advance.

The Beast weighs in at 72oz – equivalent to 18 quarter-pounders – and contains a staggering 456 grams of fat, as well as three days of calories.

The burger is so big it takes almost an hour to cook – and uses so much mince that restaurant bosses insist customers pre-order the enormous burger a day in advance.

Bosses at Warren's Gourmet Burger Company in Wooton Road, St Anne's, claim only a handful of customers have ever managed to polish off the monster feast.

As well as the eight-inch wide burger, and 400g bun, customers are also invited to polish off a huge bowl of chips, and a side of coleslaw.

The entire feast contains 6,806 calories – almost three times the 2,500 calories the government recommends for a man.

Anyone who clears their plate within an hour is rewarded with their picture in the restaurant's hall of fame – as well as a waiver of the burger's £15 price tag.

It is inspired by American TV show Man V Food.

What reporter? The story was copied straight from the six month old report on the Bristol Bites website.”

“Why don't they just put 18 quarter-pounders together?
Any how many tonnes of cheese to make this a cheese 'beast'?”

“Owner to Manager: "Have you seen that program on TV called "Man vs Food"? If we make up a huge burger, we can get some free publicity out of it"

Manager to Owner: "I'll telephone the Post right away"”

"Hooray! I can eat an enormous burger!"
"Yes, well done you greedy *******."”
