Bath City pipped back by Bishop's Storford
Bath City's faint Blue Square South play-off hopes all but disappeared as they surrendered a two-goal half-time lead against Bishop's Stortford at Twerton Park.
Adie Britton's team appeared to be cruising to victory at the break thanks to goals from Lewis Hogg and Gethin Jones but were stunned as the mid-table visitors fought back to take the points after the break.
The result leaves City 11 points shy of fifth-placed Chelmsford City – who have still to visit Twerton Park – with just four games to play.
A crowd of only 310 – City's lowest league gate for many years – endured a tedious start but were finally cheered when Lewis Hogg opened the scoring just after the half hour. Sekani Simpson burst down the right flank and fired in a low cross visiting captain Paul Goodacre could only clear as far as Hogg, who smashed a venomous shot into Nicky Eyre's net from 15 yards out.
Chris Holland then hit the post with a header before Jones doubled the home side's lead with a shot on the turn in a crowded box three minutes before the break.
City looked in total command as the half ended but made a sloppy start to the second period and saw their lead halved within six minutes of the restart when Holland misjudged his header back to keeper Paul Evans and James Lindie took full advantage with a confident finish.
Lindie headed the visitors level after another defensive mix-up midway through the half and the Stortford comeback was complete when Danny Green waltzed past several City players before slotting home the winner with 15 minutes to go.
