Bath City 0 Eastleigh 2

Two early goals brought Bath City back down to earth as visitors Eastleigh took the points at Twerton Park.

City went into the game with their confidence sky high following a 5-1 success at Bishop's Stortford on Saturday but were rocked by a goal inside three minutes.

Gethin Jones misjudged Brett Poate's throw-in from the left as it bounced into the area and was punished for his slip by Andy Forbes, who stole in before coolly slipping the ball under City keeper Steve Perrin.

Perrin made fine saves to foil both Forbes and Aaron Martin but was beaten for the second time when Poate floated a free-kick into the area, following a foul by Lewis Hogg, and Tom Jordan rose highest to direct a downward header into the net.

Sido Jombati should have halved the deficit on 55 minutes, shooting over with the goal at his mercy.
