Barrier installed to stop Bristol youngsters cycling onto road
A wooden barrier has been installed at the bottom of a slope in Peasedown St John to prevent young cyclists riding out onto a main road.
Youngsters love to speed down the slope but often end up rushing out onto the road.
There have been a number of incidents where car drivers have had to swerve to avoid cyclists.
Now house builder Persimmon Homes Wessex, which owns the land, has built a barrier to prevent accidents after being alertted to the activity by local councillor Sarah Bevan.
Gary Male, technical director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: "We have designed and installed a barrier which we are confident will discourage this activity in the future."

“A trampoline on its side would have been interesting sending the cyclists back where they came from. Might even be an idea for the Olympics.”
