Sponsor-free shirts for Bristol Rovers?
Bristol Rovers could be playing without any sponsor's logo on their shirts next season if a group of fans get their way.
Supporters from various club internet forums are joining forces to try to raise more than £1,000 to buy one of the 100 tickets Rovers are selling in their shirt sponsorship draw.

Bristol Rovers could have a sponsor-free shirt like Barcelona next season
If they reach the target and their ticket is drawn for either the home or away shirt, they will leave the front blank.
Organiser Pete Clark, from Redfield, said: "We need to raise the cost of the ticket plus VAT, so we are targeting £1,150 by the deadline of May 27. So far we have nearly £150 in cash and almost another £300 in pledges.
"There is a lot of support from people who just want to see the team play in the traditional blue and white quarters without any logo, but we need people to put their hands in their pockets."
A Paypal account for donations has been set up online through Clark's email address – williambloke69@hotmail.com.
He said: "I would like people who donate to leave their contact details, so if we don't get to the target their money can be refunded.
"But we are hopeful we can raise enough."
Everybody buying a draw ticket is entitled to a £700 matchday hospitality package.
Clark added: "If we raise the money needed, we would either draw 10 names at random from those who donated or give the package to a charity."

“BMW have stolen Rovers' quarters. Let them sponsor Rovers......or why not Horfield Invisible Menders?”

“Interesting idea...
Donate the hospitality package to charity I say. A charity could use it for their causes (under privilaged children ect), or aution it off as a prize for fund raising. I'm sure BRFC, being a community friendly club wouldn't mind.
Up Gas!”

“Good idea Williambloke! But how about doing what Villa have done and have a charity emblazoned on the shirts. Though leaving it blank would make for a beautiful kit...”

“As long as it isn't "DAS" or something every colour apart from blue that doesn't co-ordinate with the shirt colours I don't mind.Good idea to have different home and away sponsors for the shirts like we did in some of the 1990's shirts. Nice idea maybe to use The Pirates or The Gas on the different shirts.”
