WORK is to start today on installing additional traffic calming measures on a busy road in Banwell.

North Somerset Council is putting in four new road humps as well as improving the existing ones on the village High Street this week.

The High Street is not the main road through the village but the lane running along the hillside from the Caves at Knightcott.

Work started today and the road will be closed for a week and motorists are being advised to avoid the area while the work takes place..
