Banned: Bristol woman who drank after father's funeral
A woman who drank two glasses of wine after her father's funeral has been banned from driving.
North Avon Magistrates Court heard Susan Lynton-Jenkins admitted drink-driving on February 15.
The 49-year-old divorcee was stopped by police driving her Mercedes on Watley's End Road, Winterbourne, at about 10pm. A test found she had 48mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit for driving is 35mcg.
Lynton-Jenkins, who has no previous convictions, had been to her father's funeral that day.
She had been to the gym and instead of her usual one glass of wine, she had two, as her friends were comforting her.
Chairwoman Liz Gregson banned her from driving for 12 months and said she could attend a drink-driving course for a three-month reduction.
Lynton-Jenkins, of Beaver Close, Winterbourne, was also ordered to pay a fine of £350, £85 costs, and a £15 victim surcharge.
