Baby gibbon needs extra attention
A baby gibbon is getting extra special care at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm.
The newborn Siamang gibbon, which has yet to be named, had to be taken from her mum Salome at the Wraxall animal park as she was not producing milk and was unable to feed her baby.

The two-week old is now being hand-reared by keepers and s sleeping in an intensive care incubator donated by the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Staff at the zoo farm take the tiny ape home at night to ensure she gets her regular feeds and sleep.
Primate keeper Sadie Garland said: "We'd have preferred to keep her with her mum, but after close monitoring the baby was clearly going downhill and it was decided that it would be in the best interest of the baby to intervene."
She added: "She is quite fragile at the moment but is progressing well and we are hopeful she will be put back in the gibbon gallery with her mum and dad."
Siamangs are classed as an endangered species due to destruction of their habitat in their native Indonesia and Malaysia.

“Could you show me where I have "preached hate" for anything?
All religions are based on lies and prey on the young, gullible and feeble-minded.
Be it christiantiy, islam or whatever, I will say the same about any religion.”

“I don't believe in his views but defend his right to state them on his own property. The place does get a lot of free publicity but not more so than other places like the zoo, the hippodrome etc. As with regard to expansion Antony Bush expands first and puts in permission later. Besides I didn't see anyone in objection to the tiger enclosure complaining to the council.”

“Steven
I'm assuming you have never been there and imagine it to be some sort of place with people preaching the word of the lord at every corner. But it's not.
There is a massive playroom for the children and along all of the walls are posters, muriels, giving information about how different theories came about on how the world began.
So although Christianity clearly does nothing for you (and me neither), it is a great relief and inspiration when dealing with life's turmoils. I also think if you were on here preaching hate for Islam, it would be seen as very inappropriate.”

“There is only one logical, reasonable and provable theory and that is Darwinism. There is no reason why any other ludicrous and made fairy tales, especially that the earth is only a few thousand years old and everything was made by an invisible spaceman, should be publicised - especially by a zoo.
It is at best irresponsible and I urge all right-thinking people not to give this "zoo" the chance to further puiblicise it delusions.”

“Can I say that when visiting Noah's Ark Farm earlier this year, Darwin's Theory and some others that alter from what Christians believe were displayed clearly on the educational notice boards for visitors to read about.
I am neither religious nor against, but I wouldn't avoid the place because it has a Christian base.”

“Nick, this "zoo" not only exists to make money but to brainwash people against the science Darwinism in favour of the lie that everything was created by an invisible supernatural being.
This "zoo" is an attack on reason and a danger to proper education. Avoid it at all costs.”

“I am sick and tired of this so called zoo getting free publicity out here in the sticks were fed garbage about this place on a weekly basis in our local rag .At a time when bristol zoo is moving to more spacious surroundings this place is allowed by the planners to expand. To be held in capitivity is cruel and uneccesery .
Places like this keep animals for one purpose only, to make money. Before they die these animals will wish they had never been born”
