This is Bristol

I'd urge people who intend to abandon the mainstream parties in June's local and Euro elections, and there are understandably many of them, to choose the positive, ethical alternative the Greens offer, not to avoid voting and not to vote for the BNP. I agree with letter writer Liban Obiye ('We need better politicians, but not the BNP', Open Lines, May 19).

Plenty of talk about the BNP at the moment. They are getting a lot of frequent, fairly casual mentions in the media as an alternative to the mainstream parties. Their campaign launch received a lot of coverage time on the telly. I've seen their party broadcast and recently I received their Euro election leaflet through my door despite the fact that some Bristol posties have refused to deliver them (and have forced a change in the attitude of their managers, who have now agreed to allow them to refuse!).

The South West Greens lead Euro election candidate Cllr Ricky Knight has refused to share a platform with the BNP at the Bath meeting. He will be present outside the venue giving out leaflets explaining his Green position and answering questions in an impromptu 'people's hustings'.

Glenn Vowles,

Knowle.

“I urge everyone to vote BNP. A little bird told me, (not the female kind, I've never been that lucky), that they advocate letting cyclists jump red lights and ride on the pavements, (the vast majority of us do that anyway mind), so, VOTE BNP. I keep posturing about them being racist, but that is to deflect attention away from how I REALLY feel.”

“PS I also like the point often overlooked. If people do not like this country they can leave. After all if poor people from across the world can get here, risking life and limb to leave their war torn or poverty stricken lands surely you can book a plane ticket and arrange removals? I dont think Chris or Wayne will go though. Cant be bothered. I would rather have a country full of people who can be bothered whether like me they are native British or not. But of course where would they go that is better? Ok Monaco/ South of France might be nice but then there are a lot of Frenchies and immigrants there so no better off eh W+C? Costa Del Sol is more suiting. Why dont you live there? Or OZ? cheap houses. Thing is this country is great. Thats why people want to come here. If you think its a bad, run down place LEAVE BOYS. Grass is not greener on the other side so shut up, stop blaming others and get on with spreading happiness instead of hate.”

“hello Rob, just back from a BBQ. My brother in law is a whisky buff so feel a little high at the moment. I think Wayne is waiting for Mrs Wayne to fall asleep before he ventures onto the computer. Chris is still wondering when Mrs Chris will be back home and if she is still seeing Mr Patel. So peace resumes. I will bid all good people and silly little sheep a good night. Peace and love to all men (but particularly women because I dont battle for the wrong side!) Sleep tight BNP supporters- I still have the list and I am gradually sending one of my turds to each of you in the post but my body isnt a production line!”

“Soarer, once again, your unique look raises a smile adn i find myself agreeing with you once again.
Wayne, lets make it simple for you, just in case Soarers education level is slightly above you own.
I was born with two working class parents, lived in a council house for mose of my earlier years and spent my years to date bettering myself.
I work in excess of 50hrs a week most weeks in a skilled job that a lot of people on here love to slate (albeit for a different and less mentioned arm of the company). I read the Sun, Star, Mirror, Guardian, Times, Telegraph to name but a few so i get a varied outlook on current affairs. I go out and drink occasionally, however, i like to drink at home and speak to my good lady. We work with many different races and i will definately say that we are not racist in anyway. I tolerate anyone that works for a living, black white, orange or purplae with blue spots. Thats how i was brought up.
You really do need to do a bit of research into the BNP (im assuming between sips of White lightening or whatever the cheap cider is these days) and use your computer for something other that searching for pictured of naked women or cats falling of walls.
Then maybe, you will be able to see the wood for the trees and understand something of Soarers words.
Hasta la Vista, its a lovely day, im off work and the missus isnt so im gonna relax with a couple of cold drinks in the back of the garden.
Soarer, i trust you will be enjoying yours :)”

“Just seen your last post Chris. You been on here all day! when the sun is shining? Sad little racist.
Since when have immigrants undercut British workers? we have a mimimum wage. If someone is prepared to work for cheaper that is simple market economics. Savings get passed on to everyone else by reduced cost to the end consummer. Could you imagine the cost of everyday items if the BNP got in and had their way? You would be much poorer in the pocket. I have already gone into money for pensioners before. very cynical of the BNP to try that one. Pensioners tend to turn out more for voting. They all do it. perhaps instead people of a 'british culture' could start to be bothered to look after their older relatives a bit more like they do in other cultures. cultures where elders are respected and listened to and you arent on the scrap heap in your mid 40's. We have a lot to learn from this globalised and open world.
This country is great. If you dont like it Wayne and chris why dont you pack your bags and just p1ss off to get a better life elsewhere? You are free to. no one is stopping you (unless you have criminal convictions). If not just stop moaning. it is negative, small minded racists like you that this country doesnt need. If I hadnt read your nasty little writing Wayne (I wont even comment about your riddiculous and sinister tirade against muslims) and I judged you on something riddiculous like your colour, or in your case your name, would you think its fair?. Wayne- your parents were lower working class. You are probably lower working class/ working class. You are around 40 and fat. you live in council house and you have a poorly paid unskilled job. Your kids hang around the street late at night drinking and have brushes with the law. you dislike other cultures but love an good curry and take the mickey out of the staff. IS that you Wayne? Or have I unfairly judged you without knowing you?”

“BTW Wayne- love the fact you think humans shouldnt have rights. Its normally your type who bang on about your rights. Are you not human?
Another one- lets quote the koran shall we thats great. a book written over a millenium ago. What about 'our' bible? The bible where our kind God massacred dozens of children ( sent some bears to rip them apart) becaused they teased one of his phrophets about having a bald head? tad harsh. Or gang rape. Or genocide of Eygptians was ok because the jewish race was superior? the mistreatment of women and gays? list to go on....

another? green belt. very admirable in the 1970's to put a nice little band around cities. Of course that was never going to last 30 years later was it? be realistic. Every city in every country grows. Its not like local councils to get things wrong and not predict the future is it though???
Must mean we are overcrowded of course. Are we. like someone said how do you come by that thought. because the BNP told you Chris? Are there many more homeless than in previous decades? nope. Are there many 100's of thousands of empty properties in the UK? yes. People need more houses because people are living on their own now more than in previous times- not because of huge influx of immigrants. More divorces. more people marrying later. I only find an over crowding problem if i go to a bar on a friday night down town and have to wait for my pint. if you can explain how overcrowding has affected your life please tell? As for over building we have a huge amount of countryside. get out of the pub and take a look.”

“A few quick ones for Wayne
Europe brought in anti-discrimation laws regarding age.
Europe brought in rules about disabled access.
Europe makes rules on equality within the EU, not how a country spends its money.
Regarding a referendum. yes we give billions to EU every year. I dont know what we get in return. That isnt negative to the EU i simply dont know. Its like the people who moan about the money given to the monarchy and immigrants. Both cost money but both bring more money in to the country than they cost. Europe is probably the same but I, probably you, probably teh vast majority of EP readers do not know anything about the financial workings of the EU apart from maybe a bit of spin from UKIP. (they know that most people are pretty ignorant like the BNP). So its a bit like why should a jury of 12 people off the street sit in judgement of a complex commercial fraud when they know nothing on teh subject? Murder yep? The intracies of an internal financial companies workings judged by a a greengrocer from wigan? hmmm. Same with a referendum on Europe. The man on the street DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT! me included, and yet they are supposed to tick a box determining a major factor in a countries working!? that is quite frankly lunacy. Personally i think being part of a giant financial organisation competeing in a globalised economy is essential but thats just my view.”

“Before I forget Glen Vowles, good news for you. A poll in The Times today (Chris-Wayne The Times is another form of newspaper you can buy on a daily basis within the UK) put landslide to the Conservatives based on the the euro elections, next UKIP above labour but pretty good results for the greens (twice the support of the bnp so you dont need to worry).
I digress. Surveilance Capital. Most cameras up are put up by private companies. The next are by local councils not national government. What is your problem with CCTV Chris and Wayne? You must perform criminal activities I presume. Have these CCTV IN ANYWAY affected your life bar for breaking the law and getting a speeding fine? If people did not commit crimes, speed, yobs didnt get drunk and fight and anti-social idiots did not pick up the cr@p from their dogs then councils would have no need to spend money on cameras. And number plate recognition captures peoples movements which have led to major prosecutions due to having proof. It also captures drivers who have no tax. mot or insurance. Is that not good? or do you think as well as racism, criminal activity is good for society. i think Chris you think you are so important that people have time just to look at you all day. Sorry you are wrong. As for teh computer that records every text and email and call. whats the problem? Do you know how many 100's of millions of emails and texts are sent EVERY DAY in the UK, let alone calls. Billions a week. they arent snooping on you Chris trust me. They are snooping on a very few. even if Mrs Chris is texting Mr Singh about their next liason they really dont care. It is however a record which could be used in a prosecution (say you or wayne do a racit attack against someone). If you dont do anything seriously illegal then there is no problem. I thought people wanted to get tough on crime yet condone a system that brings more prosecutions?”

“It wasnt the whole of the labour government that was up for the war, illegal or not. I remember coming on this site at the time and was continually battered down for not supporting the war. I was called all the names-tree hugger etc. Amazing how times changed. Which idiot earlier (wayne) said we were all fed lies about WMD. Yes you were. you didnt look at the basic facts did you. When colin powell highlighted the 'proof' it was a total joke. Yet people like Wayne didnt think for themselves. they were told it in their red top papers so believed it just like they go to the bnp website and believe it. This country is so dumbed down. However many mps didnt want it the public did. Constant pictures of 9/11, bad saddam (armed by us but that is another story) and all that 'proof'. the proles like Chris and Wayne love it. So dis the red tops these people read (they love a war- sells more papers). Gullable to the end.”
