B & W Avonside's cup hopes ended
KING'S Stanley booked a semi-final against Yate Town Reserves after a convincing 5-1 win over B & W Avonside in the Les James League Cup second round.
Stanley took a very early lead with a brilliant 20-yard free-kick from John Embling and went close to increasing their advantage when Mike Beckingham's 30-yard drive was well saved by Emanuele Pullara.
Stanley full-back Sam Prior hit a sweet left-foot drive into the bottom corner to make it 2-0, and B & W's task was made harder when Phil Serjeant was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Beckingham made it 3-0, then John Peacock broke into the box and ran on to score.

The home side retook the lead through Robbie Allen, whose goal was cancelled out by Paul Henry on the stroke of half-time.
