Avon Athletic B set up an exciting semi-final derby battle with Avon Athletic A by overcoming Oldland Abbotonians 4-1 in the Avon Youth League Under-13 Cup.

It's the second year running the two sides have reached the last four of the competition.

Avon made a flying start, Dan Davison scoring within 15 seconds of kick-off – and they never looked back.

The muddy pitch, with water resting on the surface in places, meant that it was hard for either team to play a passing game.

But Hugo Burton deftly volleyed in from a corner after nine minutes to give Avon a 2-0 lead and they extended their advantage after the break, Connor Matthews firing home during a goalmouth scramble.

Oldland claimed a late consolation goal, only for Burton to quickly reply to maintain Avon's three-goal cushion.

For Avon, Gabriel Jackson put in a solid performance at left-back, helping his team contain a dangerous Oldland attack, while Alex Miners caught the eye in the midfield battle with some tigerish tackling.
