Unstoppable Avon Athletic Under-13s are celebrating a season of success after clinching the Avon Youth League Division II championship.

Hot on the heels of winning the prestigious Looe Bay Cup while on tour in Cornwall, Avon's B team are now gearing up for the 2009-10 campaign in Division I of the Avon Youth League after wrapping up their third successive promotion since their formation in 2006.

In addition to the two trophies, the boys also reached the semi-finals of the Avon Youth League and GFA cups where they were defeated on both occasions by double cup winners and Division I champions, Avon Athletic A.

Club secretary Dave Andrews praised the two squads.

"Winning both the first and second division championships at Under-13 level is a remarkable achievement for that age group," he said. "It is a boost for the whole club as we look forward to moving back to our rebuilt facilities at the Mile Straight Club in Filton."
