Avon Aquatics took a first-round lead following a superb 29-point team victory in the Bristol Commercial House League, fished on a Bristol Avon running slow and clear.

Reigning champions Thatchers B Team finished in second, with 25 points, while last year's runners-up Thatchers B Team came third with 23.

In B Division, Crown Road Electrical earned a 20.5-point win, for a one-point lead over Town & Country.

Top of the individual scoresheet was Avon Aquatics member Paul Isaacs.

Marcus Crook, of Cooper Avon Tyres, claimed second place from E6 at Conigre.

Third was Veals rod Bob Sheppard.
