Chris Bradford, author of the award-winning Young Samurai series, provided Bristol Colston's School with "the most entertaining, informative and exciting author visit we have ever had," according to head of English, Dr Julie Tovey.

He followed up World Book Day and the launch of The Way Of The Dragon (number three in the series) with a presentation and martial arts display to Years 7 and 8 in the school's Chatterton Hall.

Centre of attention, and commanding huge respect, was his own Samurai sword.

"This is diamond sharp and will go straight through you," Chris warned. "It's the most perfect sword ever made."
