Weston-super-Mare. Bike Night. The seafront. 6-9pm. Hundreds of bikers and bike organisations. £1 a bike. Also on September 3, 10, 17, 24.

Bristol. Social meeting. Bristol Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), 7.30pm. The Rope Walk, Bedminster.The group is campaigning on a number of biker issues this summer. The group wants more bike parking in Bristol and anti-skid manhole covers. See bristol.mag-uk.org.

Friday-Sunday, August 28-30

MotoGP. Rd12. Red Bull Grand Prix, Indianapolis, United States. Standings are: 1. Valentino Rossi (Ita) Yamaha 212pts; 2. Jorge Lorenzo (Spa) Yamaha 162; 3. Casey Stoner (Aus) Ducati 150. In the Czech leg, Rossi led from pole until Lorenzo passed him with six laps to go, but one lap later, the Spaniard crashed, handing victory to the reigning world champion. James Toseland was ninth.

Germany. World Superbike Championship Rd 8, Nürburgring. After the last round the standings are: 1. Noriyuki Haga (JPN) Ducati, 326pts; 2. Ben Spies (USA) Yamaha, 319; 3. Michel Fabrizio (ITA) Ducati, 273. British riders Jonathan Rea, and Leon Haslam, both on Hondas, are in the chasing pack.

Friday-Sunday, September 18-20

A field in North Somerset. Weston & North Somerset MAG GWR Rally. Pre-book price £8 plus rally patch for the first 150, or £10 on the gate. Enjoy real ale, cider and live music at a traditional small rally where real bikers can enjoy themselves. The mysterious location will be revealed nearer the time. See north-somerset.mag-uk.org.

Saturday-Sunday, October 10-11

Weston-super-Mare. Beach Race. The massive off-road bike event takes over the resort for the weekend. You could take part as there's a large number of open classes including quad bikes. It's one of those events that attracts bikers from across Europe. For details visit wbruk.com.

Bristol Advanced Motorcyclists (BAM) monthly club nights are on the second Wednesday of the month, with fun and informative quizzes and guest speakers.
