Laura Parsonage, who works for Bristol accountants Grant Thornton, carved more than two minutes off her personal best with a time of 83mins 39secs to take the runners-up place in Sunday's Chippenham half- marathon.

The 28-year-old Team Bath AC runner bettered the time she ran in Bath earlier this year to finish runner-up behind Coventry Godiva's improving Helen Taranowski.

"I was really pleased with that time," said Parsonage, whose next race will be the Oldbury 10 on October 4.
