A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a serious assault of a man in Stapleton, Bristol.

He remains in hospital in a critical, but stable, condition with neck and arm injuries.

He was attacked in Parnell Road at about 7.45pm on Saturday.

A 48-year-old woman from Stapleton and a 47-year-old man from Leeds have been arrested and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
