Ashton kick off with a nine-goal bonanza against Brislington

Hanham Minor League: Ashton Boys A Under-9s opened their Under-9 Division A account with a super 9-0 home victory against Brislington.

Sam Harding and James Lopresti both scored twice, Adam Rees, Ryan Meacham and Max Tryfonos were also on target, while two own goals completed the tally.

Toby Virjee was outstanding in defence while the energetic Jack Filer and Louis Snailham had terrific games.

Warmley Rangers kicked off with a hard-fought 4-2 aggregate victory over Bitton.

Joseph Vincent scored the only goal of the first game after being set up by Jayden Rands, while Tyrell Squire's two strikes and a fierce drive by Josh Haynes clinched a 3-2 win in the second match.

Warmley's defence looked very solid with Solomon Templar and star man Daniel Turner excellent in front of ever-improving goalkeeper Joe Naish.

AEK Boco beat Henbury 5-2 at home after two entertaining games.

Defender Mason Hawkins made an impressive debut as Boco won game one 2-0 with two Louis Britton strikes.

Henbury started the second game well, but two Billy Hensler goals and a superb team move finished off by Jacob Cleverley ensured the hosts squeezed through 3-2.

In Division B, Thornbury Falcons won their derby clash with Almondsbury 6-2.

Billy Hobbs and Conor Sheehan shone for Brislington A but they could not prevent them tumbling to a 4-1 defeat against bogey side Bitton in Under-11 Division A.

Bitton romped to a 4-0 win in the first game thanks to goals by Cody Stiddard, Rob Smyth (2) and Jack Godfrey.

Warren Lewis pulled one back for Brislington in the second clash and Louis Jenkins had half-chances to further reduce the arrears.

Debutant keeper Ashley Poole made some super saves while Curtis Lacey and Michael McCarthy also performed well as Brislington took comfort in a 1-0 win.

For Bitton, keeper Charlie Bennett, Liam Parry and Oliver Greenslade contributed well in the first game, while Ollie Hemmings, Jack Churchill, Josh Garnett and Aaron Banfield all stood out in the second encounter.
