Arrest over attack on pensioner
A man has been arrested in connection with an attack on a Backwell pensioner.
Terry Floyd, 76, spent 13 days in the intensive care unit of the Bristol Royal Infirmary after the incident in the car park of the Rising Sun pub in the village on July 20.
Mr Floyd was attacked as he left the pub at about 7.30pm and left unconscious and bleeding in the car park. He suffered four broken ribs, a hairline fracture to his jaw, memory loss and a serious cut to his head and is now recovering at home.
It is understood that two men saw Mr Floyd being attacked
A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has been bailed pending further inquiries.
