NORTH LEIGH 2 MANGOTSFIELD UNITED 3: Mangotsfield United scored a late winner from the penalty spot to clinch a well-deserved away victory at North Leigh.

Phil Baters' side had twice fallen behind in this Southern League Division One South & West clash.

Bater said: "We didn't really get going in the first half, but dominated the game after the interval for a well-deserved victory."

The win, Mangotsfield's sixth of the season, leaves them in 16th place, with 20 points, but they have games in hand on the teams above them, which, if they win, would take them into a mid-table spot.

Both sides wasted early chances before North Leigh took a 24th-minute lead when Ben Reardon and Joe Burnell created the opening for Andy McCabe to score.

Mangotsfield's equaliser came seven minutes into the second half when Michael Meaker netted a cross-shot from the angle of the penalty area.

North Leigh quickly regained the lead when Simon Futcher's free-kick created the opening for Matty Taylor to score.

Despite the setback, Mangotsfield settled down and they were quickly back on terms when Meaker set up Kyle Tooze to score.

With three minutes left, United were awarded a spot-kick when Meaker was tripped and Neil Arndale converted from 12 yards.
