Patchway street sealed off after fatal stabbing
A young man has died after a violent clash in a Patchway street. The man, aged in his 20s, was stabbed and suffered other injuries on Rodway Road in the early hours of yesterday.
Avon and Somerset police were called at about 2.30am to reports that a man had suffered serious injuries to his chest and abdomen.

Police carry out searches on Rodway Road follwing a suspicious death in Patchway
He was taken to Frenchay Hospital, where doctors tried to save his life, but he later died.
Police have not yet launched an official murder inquiry, nor confirmed the cause of death, but they are treating it as "suspicious".
The name of the man who died has been given to the Evening Post, but last night police were still informing his next of kin so his identity can not yet be released.
Residents on the street were shocked when they awoke to find their road had been cordoned off, a number of police vans had been parked up and officers were carrying out door-to-door enquiries to find anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
The road was closed to everyone except residents from its junction with Worthing Road, by the community centre. It was cordoned off from St Chad's Church and its junction with Cranbourne Road, as far as Cavendish Road.
A Cranbourne Road resident, who did not want to be named, said: "I looked out of my window at about 4.10am and just saw all the police out there.
"There were a couple of vehicles and I could see officers talking to three people. I think it happened earlier in the morning though.
"I went outside to go to work and the police just said it was a major incident and the road had to be closed off."
Another neighbour, who lives on Rodway Road, said: "The first I knew about it was when I looked outside at about 11am and it did shock me.
A resident who had lived on the street for more than 20 years added: "I can't remember anything as serious as this ever happening in the street."
A Police Community Support Officer and other officers took the name and details of everyone who wanted to pass the cordon to get to their home.
In the early evening, a young woman laid a bunch of flowers in respect of the man who died, believed to have lived on one of the roads nearby.
Officers could be seen walking along Rodway Road, looking closely at the pavement and in front gardens, possibly trying to find whether a weapon had been dropped or dumped by the offender.
It is not known whether the fatal incident took place between two men, or whether others were also involved.
Avon and Somerset police spokeswoman Catherine Foster said last night: "Officers are treating his death as suspicious.
"A man, also aged in his 20s, has been arrested in connection with this incident and remains in police custody at this time."
Anyone with any information on the crime should call police on 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
