Applications for UWE places rise thanks to hi-tech courses
THE University of the West of England (UWE) has reported a three per cent rise in applications this year.
UWE has received 28,867 applications compared with 27,112 applications this time last year. There were increases in applications for courses including engineering and computer sciences.
Steve West, UWE's vice-chancellor, said: "Students are sending a clear message that they want to do courses orientated towards practice and linked to industry."
