ANISA House was the hero of the hour with a last-gasp winner as champions Longwell Green Under-14s claimed an entertaining 3-2 away victory over a spirited Backwell Athletic team.

They opened the scoring with a superb low drive from the lively Louisa O'Hare, only for Backwell to hit back straight away courtesy of a fine Megan Harding finish following Chloe Taylor's powerful run and cross.

Longwell, with their star player Jordan Putterill pulling the strings with a tenacious display, started the second half well, but Backwell began to assert themselves and snatched the lead when Ellie Bray latched on to a through ball from Kierra Greenslade and hit an unstoppable shot past the keeper.

However, Abbie Woodley-Marshall struck back for Longwell with a fantastic goal from a free-kick outside the box to level the match before her team provided the knock-out blow through House's late winner.

Depleted Bromley Heath Girls Under-14s maintained their 100 per cent winning record with a 4-1 home success against St Nicholas.

Bromley only had ten players to call on and were fortunate to still be level at the interval. But a much-improved second-half team performance, and three great goals, saw them clinch victory.

Paige Botta was excellent in goal, overworked defenders Ellen May and Natalie Lewis also played well, while midfielders Ellie Todd, Jess Jefferies, Lauren Penny, Chloe Fuller and Rosie Williams all enjoyed good games.

Rhiannon Fowler and Katy Ballinger wrapped up the points with two goals each.

Brislington Girls Under-15s were just delighted to fulfil their fixture at home to Dursley Town after taking the field with only nine players – but they were unable to prevent a 4-1 defeat.

Brislington worked so hard for each other that Dursley led only 1-0 at the break, Zoe Gabb drilling past stand-in keeper Yasmine Kassous.

Charlie Osborne, Chloe Nelson, Casie Dixon and Ellie Bidgood kept the Dursley strikers at bay for the majority of the game, but Gabb and Flis Elliott were both among the goals in the second half to seal victory for their team. At the other end, Mia Williams was on target to give Brislington some consolation.

Olivia Allen's fine double and goals by Sophie Young and captain Laura Norris earned AEK Boco Under-12s a deserved 4-2 home victory over Wotton Rovers.

Wotton, who fielded only six players, were always on the back foot and Boco took advantage within the first 15 minutes as they secured a 3-0 lead through Allen and an outstanding finish by Young.

But the visitors kept going and did well to net twice, although Boco had several more chancesafter the break to kill the contest off.

Madison Price's second-half goal could not save Lawrence Weston Colts Under-12s from a 2-1 defeat by Quedgeley Wanderers.
