Ambitious coach firm delighted with new base
COACH firm Wessex Connect has opened a new depot in Avonmouth. The firm, which runs services for Bristol University and UWE, hopes to expand its services in Bristol.
A spokesman for the firm said: "We had simply run out of space at our former depot in Filton. We have made this move because we are looking to expand and take on more routes. We are thrilled with the new facilities we have."
Liberal Democrat councillor Tim Kent, head of transport for Bristol City Council, opened the new depot.
Antony Goozee, business development manager of Flights Hallmark, which owns Wessex, said: "We are pleased to have a regional head office for our South West operations, a move that reinforces our commitment to growing a sustainable bus business in the area."
Located on St Andrew's Road, one of the main routes into Avonmouth and only 100 yards from junction 18 of the M5, the tenant is leasing all available space for ten years.
Tim Beare, LSH Bristol, said: "This is great news, showing that Avonmouth continues to be a target destination for a broad range of high quality occupiers."
