Almondsbury are staging a mid-season Senior Division revival after claiming a third win in a row with a 52-run mauling of promotion-chasing Twyford House.

The South Gloucestershire outfit lost their opening five wickets cheaply before Ross Wakely came in at No 7 and smacked 130 off 104 balls, including 19 fours and 4 sixes.

He was well supported by tail-ender Vikas Manoor (31) while Ross Sutton took 6-52.

In reply to 210, House finished on 158 with Ashley Hall (43) top scoring. Skipper Tom Armfield (5-60) claimed his third five-wicket haul this summer.

Cleeve are up to fourth after skipper Mike Haswell scored his maiden league century of the summer in the Somerset village club's five-wicket win over Failand & Portbury.

The experienced opener scored more than 700 runs in Cleeve's first division title campaign last year.

Chasing Failand's 238 after Steve Bachelor had hit 67, with Chris James taking 5-62, Haswell inspired the successful run chase by making 127.

Ed Lye (43 not out) and Julian Crouch (29 not out) saw second-placed Hampset home in their seven-wicket victory against Portishead.

Batting first, Portishead made 139 thanks to Stephen Winward's almost a run a ball 83, which included 14 fours and 2 sixes. Matthew Sellars (5-36) and Jonathan Flogg (3-32) were the top bowlers.

The division's other matches between St Mary Redcliffe and Pak Bristolians, plus Bristol Asians and Chew Magna were cancelled.

In Division One, the top-of-the-table clash between leaders Phoenix West Indians and Hanham fell foul of the weather. Tom Williams hit 47, including 7 fours, and took 4-41 as Coalpit Heath won by 42 runs against Long Ashton.

Heath finished on 176-9 before Ashton made 134, with Ben Copping top scoring with 62, and Shaun Tanner (16) the only other batsman to make double figures. Darren Wesson took 3-28.

In the only other first division match to survive the weather, Majid struck 110 in Bristol Pakistanis' three-wicket defeat to Bristol Sri Lankans. Batting second, Samantha made 88 in the Sri Lankans' 271-7.

In Division Two, Charlie Kelly followed up his century and five-wicket haul last weekend by claiming 5-38 in Stoke Bishop's 43-run win against Blagdon. Skipper Rich Waller (38) top scored in Bishop's 177-9.

No division three matches beat the rain, but A Akbar took 6-40 for Bristol Fighting Spirit, who won by six wickets against Old Cathedralians.

Panzeem finished with 7-35 in Pak Bristolians' three-wicket win against Hanham in Senior Division 2nd XI.

A Grosvenor's 56 was at the heart of Old Down's 90-run victory against Hambrook A in Division Two 2nd XI.

S Plumley (50) and G Heavens (54) top scored in BAC's four-wicket win against Old Cathedralians XI in Division Four 2nd XI.

Ayaz took 6-19 as Pak Bristolians restricted Chipping Sodbury to 56 in reply to 203 in Division One A XI.

Bitton were also skittled for 56, S Moon claiming 5-21, as Whitchurch cruised to a 112 win in Division Two A XI.
