Richard Thompson made it five victories in six games since taking control at Premier Division Almondsbury Town as side beat Old Woodstock Town 2-1.

The Almonds boss has also strengthened his squad by signing former Yate Town striker Dean Griffiths, who has been released by Southern League Tiverton Town.

Against Old Woodstock, Town took a fifth-minute lead through Ali Gibb, only for Ben Thomas to level matters just before half-time.

However, substitute Dean Maynard netted an 85th-minute winner.

In Division One West, Tytherington Rocks stretched their unbeaten run to seven games with a 3-1 home victory over bottom side Launton Sports.

Danny Thorpe scored a hat-trick for Rocks with two of his goals coming from the penalty spot. Launton's goal was a penalty as well.

Meanwhile, Winterbourne United's problems increased as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Letcombe.

United now have only four clubs below them in the table.
