Holders Almondsbury Town went through to the second round of the Bluefin Insurance Cup with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Division One West side Cheltenham Saracens.

Manager Richard Thompson made a number of changes to his starting line-up with Mike Whittington, Sahr Kabba, David Anyinsah and Mick Dunn all coming in to the side.

Town took an early lead through Marcus Mapstone, who scored with a well-judged chip.

Kabba then went on a run from halfway to make it 2-0 at half-time.

A Jason Wood free-kick set up Dale Peckham for his first goal since joining the club to make it three and substitute Dean Griffiths completed the scoring when he followed up from close range after the goalkeeper had blocked his first effort.

Both Winterbourne United and Tytherington Rocks' games fell victim to the weather.
