Almondsbury Town leave it late to secure FA Vase progress

Almondsbury Town went through to the next round of the FA Vase with a hard-fought 3-2 victory at Cowes Sports in the Isle of Wight.

Almondsbury trailed 2-1 going into the 90th minute, but then Marcus Mapstone was brought down in the box and Kane Ingram converted the resulting penalty.

Three minutes later, Lee Bridson drove in the winner, which flew back out of the net off the stanchion, but was seen by an alert assistant referee.

Bishop Sutton scored five goals for the second successive game as Sherborne Town were beaten 5-0.

Rob Smart's penalty gave Sutton the lead and the same player then made it 2-0.

Smart completed his hat-trick on the hour before Darren Hawkins and John Moss rounded off the win.

Brislington allowed a two-goal lead to slip away against Street, but eventually won through 5-2 after extra-time.

Russ Church, Jason Hughes, Kye Mountford, Justin Bishop and Paul Lucas netted for Brislington.

Bristol Manor Farm beat Pewsey Vale 3-0 with goals from Phil Vice, Danny Dunt and Chris Gregory.

Hallen crashed out of the competition 2-1 at Corsham Town, while Longwell Green Sports beat Alton Town 2-0.

Welton Rovers saw off Odd Down 3-0, Keynsham Town went through with a 1-0 victory at Penryn Athletic and Clevedon United beat Falmouth Town 3-0.
