Hasney Aljofree is vowing to bring an end to the defensive blunders that have stalled Swindon Town's promising start to the campaign.

Town travel to League One new boys MK Dons this afternoon hopeful of finding the form that lit up the opening two matches of the campaign.

And skipper Aljofree insists that Town can get their campaign back on track with a rare away victory this afternoon – as long as the individual errors can be eradicated.

He said: "Mistakes do happen in football but it seems as though ours are being highlighted more than not. Other defenders are making mistakes for other teams but they are just getting away with it.

"The way we lost the game was disappointing, but we have to put that to the back of our minds.

"It is all about the right attitude and showing a good spirit now.

"We have had a good week in training and the manager has not wanted to rest on what happened last weekend."

That included three individual errors that gifted Colchester their first win of the campaign.

The back four were singled out for criticism and Aljoree accepts that is all part of a defender's lot.

"As a defender it is going to be highlighted when you are leaking goals," said Aljofree.

"You are going to be looked at and the fingers will be pointed but it is a team game."

Aljofree insists that back-to-back defeats have had no effect on the players' confidence – but reckons that they have to start believing they are good enough to be among the League One leading pack.

"It is about being happy and knowing we are a good set of players and we have to believe that more," he added.

"When you start the season everyone thinks you are going to be top of the league.

"We know it is going to be hard work and we will win, lose and draw.

"We have had a few bad results, but the performances have been okay apart from the Colchester game.

"MK Dons are flying and their momentum will still be there from last year. It will be a difficult game because they will be very confident and will want to impress their new manager."
