Team Bath 4 Fisher Athletic 1: Playmaker Takumi Ake inspired Team Bath to a confidence-boosting win after their recent poor run of form and the sale of talismanic striker Steve Abbott to Wrexham.

Shaun Benison knocked home two goals in the first 15 minutes for Team Bath and the third, on 41 minutes, came after Ake was felled by Jamie Lovegrove and a subsequent Marc Canham free-kick was headed home at the far post by captain Gary Warren.

The University side might have stretched the scoreline with chances falling to Thorne and Ake.

Instead, Fisher's Gary Wharton slipped behind the defence on 43 minutes to pull a goal back for the visitors.

Fisher made the better start to the second half. An Omari Coleman shot three minutes after the interval forced home goalkeeper Darren Chitty to save at full stretch.

Team Bath's Matt Cooper's scorching shot hit a post minutes later.

Then Marc Canham popped a clever back-heel through to Ake on the right to set up Benison, whose cross was powered home by substitute Ben Thomson.

Team Bath coach Andy Tillson said: "I feel that we deserved the result today. I felt we've played well recently but haven't quite got the results. That was much better today.

"Shaun Benison was sharp and Matt Cooper was unlucky not to get a goal."
