A team of graduates from Airbus beat 15 other teams to win the charity Bristol Dragon Boat Festival 2009.

The team raised £1,250 for Sue Ryder Care by taking part.

The Airbus team consisted predominantly of second year graduates, who competed in three heats, a semi-final and a final at Bristol Docks.

This isn't the first time the team has raised money for Sue Ryder Care. They raised £15,500 in a 266- mile cycle ride from Bristol to Paris.

Organiser and Airbus engineer Geoff Halstead said: "Through personal experience I know what a fantastic job Sue Ryder Care do throughout the country in their hospices and with their at-home care.

"The festival itself was a lot of fun and we had a tremendous win, with the team's strong competitive spirit coming out on top."
