The deal is the latest in a series of high profile announcements which have seen the company win a series of multi-billion deals over the last three months.
At the start of the year Airbus announced a deal with low-cost Turkish airline Pegasus for 100 A320neo airliners and is worth £10 billion. It came just weeks after a similar sized deal was announced with AirAsia was announced.

The Los Angeles based aircraft leasing company has signed a contract for 25 A350 XWB Family aircraft which has still to go into production.
John Leahy, the man in charge of sales at Airbus, said: “ALC’s continued confidence in Airbus products and especially our fuel efficient A350 XWB and A320neo Families is a great indicator of the long-term success of these aircraft.
“When you offer products which cut fuel consumption by a double digit number, and combine that with low maintenance costs and the latest in cabin innovations, it’s a pretty compelling proposal whether you are in the low cost, full service or charter segment.”
With more than 9,000 aircraft ordered and over 5,400 aircraft delivered to over 380 customers and operators worldwide, the A320 Family is the world's best-selling single-aisle aircraft.
