Adeel wins Evening Post cricket award
PAK Bristolians' Adeel Khan is this week's winner of the Evening Post Cricketer of the Week for his outstanding performance against Chew Magna last weekend.
Evening Post Cricketer of the Week: Adeel returned figures of 7-27 and helped to secure an 86-run victory for Pak Bristolians in the Bristol & District 1st XI Senior Division match.
Pak Bristolians scored 212-6 from 45 overs as Rehman Butt made 56. But Chew Magna were bowled out for 126 runs in 38.4 overs mainly due to Adeel's skill with the ball.
Adeel has been training and playing for Gloucestershire CCC Under-15s in recent weeks.
"Adeel came through the ranks of our youth system," said Pak Bristolians secretary Mohammed Razaq. " He's been with us since he was nine and is a great prospect.
"Last season we finished second from top, losing games at both ends of the fixture list. This is the first time I can remember us winning a game on the opening of the season.
"We feel that this is an encouraging sign for the rest of the season, as we look to go one better than last year when we were constantly on and off different grounds. This season our new ground has been completed and I think we can look forward to an exciting summer of cricket."
