Bristol Zoo Gardens is holding its annual bang-less bonfire, a sparkly event without the loud bangs to frighten little ones or animals. Hot drinks and wintery treats will also be available to buy.

The display starts at 5.30pm. Tickets are adult £6, child £4.50 and family £18. Children under two go free but need tickets.

Also on Friday is The Downend Firework Show which takes place at King George V Playing Fields, at 7.30pm. This year's chosen charity is Macmillan Cancer Support. The annual children's display starts at 6.30pm. Advance tickets are £3.50 from various outlets in Downend. On the gate prices are £4 for a child (child in arms/pram free), £5 for an adult.

A night of fireworks fun is also being promised at Portishead Town Football Club.

The display is at the club ground at Bristol Road and gates open at 6pm with a bar and barbecue.

Tickets are £4 each in advance or £10 for a family ticket or £5 at the gate and are available from the football club, committee members, the Sports Shop and Mark's Barbers. Only disabled parking will be available on site.

Whitehall RFC Fireworks and Live Music Bonfire night is another event scheduled for Friday. The display starts at 6.30pm and family tickets cost £6, adults are £2.

Saturday, November 3

C levedon and District Round Table is holding its annual bonfire and firework fantasia at the Clevedon Cricket Club, Dial Hill. Organisers say: "As well as the bonfire and a magical firework display, there will be a spectacular fire-eating show. A variety of hot snacks and drinks will also be available in addition to funfair rides for the children."

The event raises money for the local community. Tickets in advance cost £3, or £4 on the gate. Gates open at 6pm for funfair rides, the bonfire is lit at 7pm and fireworks at 7.30pm.

On the same night DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House, will hold it's fifth annual night of fireworks. The grounds around the luxury health club and hotel in Congresbury will be transformed, complete with fairground rides and stalls. The celebrations begin at 4.30pm and carry on throughout the night, with a children's entertainment show at 5pm.

The firework display will end the evening at 6.30pm and there will also be face painting, a children's entertainer, popcorn, candyfloss a BBQ and a drinks tent.

Tickets cost £5 for members and £7.50 for non-members. Kids tickets cost £3 for members and £4 for non-members, with children under three going free.

Winterbourne Scouts group's famous community firework display is also being held at the usual place on November 3, at Sunnyside Farm, off Cloisters Road, Winterbourne. Budget friendly prices get a family of four a night's entertainment for £10. Gates open at 5.30pm with a Bring a Guy competition, and the main display starts at 7pm with traditional BBQ fare on offer. All proceeds in aid of the Scouts.

Bristol Round Table and Clifton Rotary Club are hosting a Fireworks Fiesta in Canford Park, Westbury-on- Trym. Gates open at 6pm for a 7pm start.

It is a family friendly display that supports local charities. Tickets bought in advance are £4 and £5 gate price on the night (under threes go free).

Monday, November 5

The annual bonfire night celebration will take place in Victoria Park near the junction of Nutgrove and Hill Avenues. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm but organisers will be setting up from 4pm.

The site should be cleared by 10pm. As usual anyone is welcome to bring any wood to burn on the bonfire.

Thousands of spectators are expected to gather at the Crown Field ground on Bristol Road for the annual Keynsham Rugby Club display and fun fair. Gates open at 6pm and the display is due to start at 7pm. Tickets will be available on the gate.
