Yate Town Under-13s made no mistake in dispensing of Borough Alliance as they raced to a 5-1 victory in the Midland Junior Premier League.

Adam Thurston and Leon Clayton-Clarke took the scoring honours with two goals each.

A good early passing move led to Ross Cox firing into the top corner of the net and Yate soon doubled their lead through Thurston's super solo goal.

Boro bounced back with Laurie Cook scoring from a free-kick before Yate restored their two-goal advantage after the break when George Smalldridge played in Clayton-Clarke for his first goal.

Thurston smashed home a fourth before Clayton-Clarke scored Yate's fifth after his initial effort had been blocked.

There was delight too for Yate Under-16s as they beat Stroud 3-0 thanks to Dan Frankom's superb left-footed drive, Dan Patounas' penalty and Kyle O'Donovan's strike.

Jake Slocombe's 20-yard scorcher was not enough to prevent Yate Under-15s falling to a 3-1 defeat against visiting Gloucester City, although Luke Barker's fabulous penalty save denied the hosts an early equaliser after Andrei Truchan had given Gloucester the lead.

Callum Francis struck the away side's second goal before the visitors made the game safe when a great save by Rob Aldham only led to the ball being turned back into the box for Matthew Couston to net the third.
