Action needed on teen mums
HOW I agree with J Jenkins' letter which referred to the fact we have the highest rate of illegitimate children in Europe.
Many of these mothers are underage – why are their 'boyfriends' never brought to book for underage sex?
If not underage why are their boyfriends or both of their families not made to contribute towards the child they have made?
Most of these young women especially these days, have probably never done anything resembling housework in their life.

Never done their own washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, or house management and yet the council and Government think the best thing to do is give them a free home with absolutely no experience at all to look after the most precious thing there is – a baby!
They are not capable of looking after themselves let alone another life. They are just children themselves.
If, in school, all girls were told that if they became pregnant they would have to live with their parents, that they would not be given a home of their own, I'm sure the pregnancy rate would drop overnight.
Most girls don't like rules laid down by their parents so think the way to get away and be their 'own boss' without having to ever go to work, they will become pregnant, be given a flat and have money handed to them for the remainder of their lives.
This has to stop – the next generation will not know what it is to actually have to get up each day and go to work to earn a living – why bother when they can get state benefits?
