The classic Hollywood musicals of the film studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer will be celebrated at the Curzon Cinema in Clevedon next month.

The cinema is holding its final Curzon Collection open day of the year on November 22 and this will be followed by a screening of the 1951 movie, An American in Paris.

Short films will also be shown on the cinema's heritage projectors during the day to mark the 75th anniversary of Metro-Goldwyn Mayer.

The film shorts will be shown on the demonstration screen and admission to the open day, which runs from 10.30am to 3pm, is free.

An American in Paris (U) stars Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron and is set to the music of George Gershwin.

Tickets for the film, which will be screened at 3pm, cost £5.50 (£4.50 concessions) and can be booked in advance by calling 07868 422 089.
