Academy marks further success
WINTERBOURNE International Academy The academy is celebrating another successful GCSE performance.
Seventy-nine per cent of all GCSE students obtained five or more A*-C grades including English and maths, while the figure for at least five good passes in any subject was 89 per cent.
Twenty-nine per cent of all passes were at A or A* grade.
The following students achieved ten or more A*-A grades: Monica Biryiana, Robyn Brailey, Daisy Budden, Rebecca Clements, Adam Coltman, Harriet Davis, Hannah Doyle, Jessica Hughes, Victoria Jones, Annalise Lam, Krishan Mistry, Emily Norman, Alice Oliver, Izzy Pottergill, Sophie Ross, Conor Sinclair, Jenna Vickery and Becky Watson.
In mathematics, a specialism of the academy which is part of The Ridings Federation of Academies, 85 per cent of all grades were A*-C, with 36 per cent of those being A*/As, while in English, 86 per cent of all grades were A*-C, with 34 per cent of those being A*/As.
Rob Evans, academy principal, said: "I am thrilled by the performance of our Year 11 students in achieving the highest ever results for the academy. These results are a reflection of the students' talents and dedication."
