Gary Green is hoping it's case of third time lucky when Bristol Academy head north for their FA Premier League clash at title-chasing Everton this Sunday.

Bad weather has meant the postponement of the Gas Girls' last two games with the away fixture at Nottingham Forest and last Sunday's scheduled home clash against Leeds Carnegie both called off.

Despite the enforced break, the visitors are still likely to be without a number of key players for a game Green admits will be very difficult.

Kerry Bartley, Michelle Green and Gwen Harries are all still sidelined, while Grace McCatty is waiting to serve a one-match suspension that has been delayed because of the recent postponements.

"We will have to play really well if we are going to get anything on Merseyside," said Green. "We will need a good work ethic and will set ourselves up to try and come back with a point.

"But I hope all of our missing players should be back in contention for our Women's FA Cup game at Watford on January 4."

The Academy's Centre of Excellence is holding trials for girls from the under-9 to under-16 age range at the WISE Campus at Filton College next month.

Trials for under-9s, under-10s, under-14s and under-16s take place between 5.30pm-7pm on Tuesday, January 6, with under-11s, under-12s, under-13s and under-14s catered for on Thursday, January 8.

More infotmation and application forms are available from Sophie Dyer, who can be contacted via sophie.dyer@filton.ac.uk

The weather took a heavy toll on last weekend's women's football fixtures with only a handful of games played.
