Aaron hits the 60-goal mark as Yate prove too hot for Hanham Athletic
AaronTurner took his goal tally for the season to a super 60 as Yate Rangers completed their Under-14 Division IV season with a 7-3 victory at Hanham Athletic B.
Turner hit a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by James Birnie (2), Aaron Kemp and George Foulger.
Tom Payne was named Rangers' man of the match for his consistent play, while Rikki Maine, Sam Fry and Alex Martin were the Hanham scorers.
Harry O'Conor capped his 50th appearance for Rockleaze Rangers in style as they drew 3-3 at Thornbury Falcons in Under-15 Division III.
Man-of-the match O'Connor gave his side the lead with his first goal of the season, a towering header from an excellent cross from the lively Chris McGill, and almost got a second with a 40-yard thunderbolt.
Thornbury equalised before half- time but Rockleaze regained the initiative when midfield dynamo Tom Ashford calmly fired home his first goal of the campaign, and only his third in 98 appearances for Rockleaze, following good work from the tireless George Harris.
Thornbury always looked dangerous on the break and scored two quick goals to go 3-2 up but Jordan Lindo saved the day for Rangers when he reacted quickest to score in a goalmouth scramble.
Dave Beardon gave another assured display in the Rockleaze goal, while Billy Plummer, Mitch Brealey and Harry Smith were the Falcons marksmen.
Bristol Rovers JSC had to settle for a a 1-1 draw with Avon Athletic A as the race for third spot in Under-12 Division I intensified.
Rovers had the better of the chances in the first half and top striker Robbie Clarke was denied by a fine save.
Rovers edged in front through Clarke, who chased a long ball and did well to head it over the advancing keeper and into the net.
Avon responded quickly with plenty of pressure and they were back on level terms within 10 minutes to set up an exciting finish. The outcome left Rovers one point ahead of fourth-placed Avon, having played two games more than their rivals.
The Under-12 Division II title race is really hotting up, with in-form FDS Bristol cruising to an 11-1 triumph over Henbury Colts at Netham Park.
FDS stormed into a 5-1 half-time lead through George Ufumwen (2), Jack Sharkey, Josh Morgan-Williams and Nathan Hall, with Alex Parslow replying for Colts. The scoring continued in the second half with further strikes from Morgan-Williams (pen), Sharkey, Ufumwen, Tom Head and a brace from man-of-the-match Kieran Baldie.
The win sees FDS move into third place, just three points behind long-term leaders Fry Club Colts with two games in hand.
Bromley Heath United notched a superb 4-1 win against Cadbury Heath, who had beaten them 1-0 in a Division II game the previous Sunday.
Cadbury opened the scoring with a fine volley but Bromley levelled when a corner from Dion Buckey-Miles went in off a defender.
James Malby posed the Cadbury defence all sorts of problems after the break with his pace and pounced to grab Bromley's second goal.
With Buckley-Miles and Joe O'Connor dictating midfield, and Matt Wemouth catching the eye, Bromley continued to dominate. O'Connor got their third goal with a fantastic half-volley following a sweeping team move before Malby grabbed his second of the game to round off a great second-half performance.
