Aaron doubles up to steal the show in Ingleside's cup win
Aaron Charles' brace helped Ingleside record their first win of the season in a terrific battle with Shirehampton in the Saturday Youth League Under-9 Cup.
Charles' perfect finish after he had latched on to a ball out from his defence gave Ingleside confidence as they had the better of the opening exchanges in the 3-2 victory.
In an end-to-end start to the second half, Shire were rewarded when Dan Whetton reacted well to a loose ball and equalised after a goalmouth scramble.
Shire keeper Jack Watkins made some good saves and, at the other end, Llewellyn Afunde hit a post before Charles again broke clear to score his, and Ingleside's, second goal.
Shire pressed for an equaliser but were caught again, Mustapha Gabbas dribbling his way through their defence before tapping in to make it 3-1.
With a few minutes remaining, Shire's Ben Stevens found the corner of the Ingleside net with a firm strike but time was not on their side.
A cracking team performance catapulted Bristol Brazilians to an emphatic 10-0 victory over Downend Saints.
They led 4-0 at half-time thanks to strikes from Nathan Goodwin- Worrell, Harry Farrell and a Reon Dawes double.
Dawes netted three more after the break to bring his tally to five, followed by further goals from Goodwin-Worrell, Tyrell Squire and a second for Farrell.
In the Under-11 A Division Cup, a solitary goal separated Sefton Park Scorpions and Fishponds at Eastville Park.
William Stanley struck the vital goal for Scorpions on 10 minutes with a well-placed shot from the edge of a crowded box.
Most of the action took place in the Fishponds goalmouth, with tenacious defending from the visitors keeping the score down and keeper Joseph Purnell making several good saves.
Fishpond's best chance came from the penalty spot but the kick flew narrowly wide.
The B Division competition saw Mylie Balkwill, George Long, William Jones and Eddy Mitchell on target for Coalpit Heath, who beat Southmead 4-0.
