500 new homes set to be built in Thornbury
Controversial plans for 500 new homes in Thornbury have been given the go ahead.
Outline planning permission was granted last night at a South Gloucestershire planning committee meeting.
The area in question is about a mile from the town centre and extends from the back of The Castle secondary school towards Butt Lane.
The developer and the council need to sign a Section 106 agreement before the decision is issued in the next few weeks.
A spokesperson for the council said: "This is an outline planning permission and therefore the applicant will need to apply to the council for detailed consent for the reserved matters for all phases."
